Howdy from San Francisco, California!
The Aggies have arrived at the American Geophysical Union 2013 Fall Conference! We are excited to finally be here to communicate with everyone back home the most cutting-edge research that has been happening in the geoscience community. I will be blogging about the most up-to-date research, opportunities and presentations at the conference, while my co-worker, Eliana, will put together some short film recaps of each day while we are here.
We were not sure whether we were going to even make it here or not; icy weather conditions in Dallas/Fort Worth delayed many flights into and out of the city and while our flights were initially cancelled, we were able to reschedule a later flight out and now we are here. You know you are a geoscientist though when you spend the majority of your flight enjoying the geography of the American Southwest below from your awesome window seat.
Wednesday will be our first official day at the conference and we are excited to communicate to you the most innovative research happening in the geosciences fields thus far. We will be featuring Aggie geoscientists as well as other leading research presentations at AGU. Follow us on Twitter @tamugeosciences and using the hash tags #TAMUAGU2013 and #AggieGeoscientists to keep up with up-to-the-minute live tweets about the conference. Photos will also be posted daily to our Facebook account and in the photo tab above, in case you want to see what it is like to attend a major conference such as AGU.
Check back here every mid-day and evening for recaps of that day’s events and in the evenings for a video recap.
We look forward to learning more about what advancements geoscientists are making globally. Please comment below if you have any questions and we will try and answer them to the best of our abilities. Know of any presentations that you think that we should attend? Comment below with that information as well.
Until tomorrow Aggies. Thanks and gig ‘em!
